WHAT'S NEXT? THREE EASY STEPS TO OBTAIN YOUR ILLINOIS BROKER LICENSE

To qualify for an Illinois Real Estate Broker License you must:

∙ Be at least 21 years old

∙ Be a high school graduate or equivalent (G.E.D.)

∙ Successfully complete the required education - 90 hours

∙ Pass the state licensing exam

 

Step 1 | Complete Required 90 Hours of Pre-License Education

∙ 75-hour broker Pre-License Topics textbook course

∙ 15-hour Broker Pre-License Applied Real Estate principles interactive course

∙ Take and pass the two course exams

- Passing is 75% or better

- Each course exam can be taken up to 4 times

 

Step 2 | Take and Pass the State Licensure Exam

∙ Exams administered by Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) www.goamp.com

∙ Passing is 75% or better

∙ State exam can be taken up to 4 times

 

Step 3 | Identify a Sponsoring Managing Broker

∙ You must choose a sponsoring managing broker within 12 months of passing state exam

∙ Apply for licensure through sponsoring broker

∙ 45-day permit issued by sponsoring broker to begin working immediately

∙ You may not practice real estate until you are sponsored.
